10 commonly used welding methods, explain clearly at one time

Ten welding animations, XINFA will introduce ten common welding methods, super intuitive animations, let’s learn together!

1.Electrode arc welding

Electrode arc welding is one of the most basic skills that welders master. If the skills are not mastered in place, there will be various defects in the welded seam, as shown in the following teaching video.

2.Submerged arc welding
image2
Submerged arc welding is a welding method that uses an arc as a heat source. Due to the deep penetration of submerged arc welding, the productivity and welding quality are good: because of the protection of slag, the molten metal does not come into contact with the air, and the degree of mechanized operation is high, so it is suitable for welding long welds of medium and thick plate structures.

3.Argon arc welding

XINFA shares with you a few precautions for argon arc welding:

(1) The tungsten needle should be sharpened frequently. If it is blunt, the current will not concentrate and bloom.

(2) If the distance between the tungsten needle and the welding seam is close, it will stick together, if it is far away, the arc light will bloom, and once it blooms, it will burn black, the tungsten needle will become bald, and the radiation to itself is also strong. It’s better to be closer.

(3) The control of the switch is an art, especially for thin plate welding, which can only be clicked and clicked. This is not an automatic welding machine with automatic movement and automatic wire feeding.

(4) To feed the wire, it has a hand feel. The high-grade welding wire is cut from the 304 board with a shearing machine. Don’t buy it in bundles. Of course, you can find good ones at wholesale points.

(5) Try to work under ventilated conditions, equipped with leather gloves, clothing, and an automatic dimming mask.

(6) The ceramic head of the welding torch should be shielded from the arc light, specifically, the tail of the welding torch should be as close as possible to your face.

(7) If you can have an intuition and hunch about the temperature, size, and switch action of the molten pool, you are a senior technician.

(8) Try to use yellow or white marked tungsten needles, which requires high craftsmanship.

4.Gas welding

Gas welding (full name: oxygen fuel gas welding, abbreviation: OFW) is to use the flame to heat the metal and welding wire at the joint of the metal workpiece to melt it to achieve the purpose of welding. Commonly used combustible gases are mainly acetylene, liquefied petroleum gas and hydrogen, etc., and the commonly used combustion-supporting gas is oxygen.

5.Laser welding
image5
Laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method that uses a high-energy-density laser beam as a heat source. Laser welding is one of the important aspects of the application of laser material processing technology. In the 1970s, it was mainly used for welding thin-walled materials and low-speed welding. The welding process is heat conduction, that is, the laser radiation heats the surface of the workpiece, and the surface heat diffuses to the inside through heat conduction. By controlling the width, energy, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse and other parameters to melt the workpiece and form a specific molten pool.

6.Carbon dioxide shielded welding
image6
Some master welders think that carbon dioxide shielded welding is the easiest, because it is the easiest to use and learn. Generally, if a novice who has never been in contact with welding, if a master teaches him for two or three hours, basically simple position welding can be operated.

There are several key points in learning carbon dioxide shielded welding: steady hands, adjustable current and voltage, controllable welding speed, gestures, which can be mastered by watching more videos, and then master the welding sequence, which can basically handle more than half of the work asked for.

7.Friction welding
image7
Friction welding refers to the method of welding by using the heat generated by the friction of the contact surface of the workpiece as the heat source to cause the workpiece to undergo plastic deformation under pressure.

Under the action of pressure, under the action of constant or increasing pressure and torque, the relative motion between the welding contact end surfaces is used to generate friction heat and plastic deformation heat on the friction surface and its surrounding areas, so that the temperature of the surrounding areas rises to In the temperature range close to but generally lower than the melting point, the deformation resistance of the material is reduced, the plasticity is improved, and the oxide film on the interface is broken. A solid-state welding method that achieves welding.

Friction welding usually consists of the following four steps: (1) conversion of mechanical energy into thermal energy; (2) plastic deformation of materials; (3) forging pressure under thermoplasticity; (4) intermolecular diffusion and recrystallization.

8.Ultrasonic welding
image8
Ultrasonic welding is the use of high-frequency vibration waves to transmit to the surfaces of two objects to be welded. Under pressure, the surfaces of the two objects are rubbed against each other to form fusion between molecular layers. The main components of an ultrasonic welding system include ultrasonic generator/transducer/horn/welding head triplet/mold and frame.

9.Soldering

image9
Brazing is to use a metal material with a lower melting point than the base metal as the solder, heat the weldment and the solder to a temperature higher than the melting point of the solder and lower than the melting temperature of the base metal, use liquid solder to wet the base metal, fill the gap between the joints and The method of interdiffusion with the base metal to realize the connection of the weldment. The brazing deformation is small, and the joint is smooth and beautiful. It is suitable for welding precision, complex and components composed of different materials, such as honeycomb structure plates, turbine blades, hard alloy tools and printed circuit boards. Depending on the welding temperature, brazing can be divided into two categories. If the welding heating temperature is lower than 450°C, it is called soft soldering, and if it is higher than 450°C, it is called hard brazing.
